Stress-free wedding: 7 relaxation tips for the day before the wedding
Published on December 1, 2025

A little stress and nervousness are completely normal before this big day. However, there shouldn't be too much of either, otherwise it will almost inevitably detract from the anticipation. That's why it's important to focus on relaxation and, ideally, a little wellness before the wedding. Neither of these things can take away the nervousness, but they can at least reduce stress.
1. Enjoy maximum rest the evening before
The day before the wedding belongs to the two lovers. It's best to put your mobile phone in flight mode and, of course, stop checking or even reading your emails. It's best to minimise distractions as much as possible so that you have more time for each other.
2. Work through your to-do list
The wedding photoshoot has already been planned at this point, with lots of inspiration gathered at wedding fairs or from friends. There may still be a few minor details to take care of, such as the dress or the rings. It's best to do this early in the morning so that everything is ready by the afternoon.
3. Free your body and mind
A little yoga, a long walk, some breathing techniques or Pilates: all of these can relieve stress and help you ground yourself. Of course, there should be no intense workouts the day before the wedding. However, a little exercise is good for you and helps to clear your head, which at this point is naturally already full of exciting thoughts about the next day.
4. Relieve deep-seated tension with massage
Muscular tension and a general feeling of stress often accompany such big days. No wonder, since the final preparations usually involve weeks of planning, excitement and minor worries. So treat yourself to a professional relaxation massage or, for deeper tension, a targeted trigger point or deep tissue treatment. This will release hardened areas and give you a well-deserved moment of relaxation and well-being. Ideally, you'll be a little more flexible on your wedding day.
5. Eat light meals and drink plenty of fluids
Both are recommended every day, but they are especially important before exciting and stressful days. In addition, you want to look your best in your dress or suit, so it is best not to have a heavy meal the day before. Light meals are also easier to digest, especially when you are already feeling nervous. Ideally, you should avoid alcohol, as you will be having a drink or two the next day anyway. Instead, we recommend fresh juices and plenty of (still) water.
6. A little wellness ritual in the evening
A long bath, a hot shower or simply a good book. There are many ways to relax your body on the eve of your wedding. Both the bride and groom usually know very well which activities and rituals help them relax best. There is plenty of time for both on the eve of the wedding.
7. Get enough sleep – for a fresh look the next day
At least seven hours of sleep will not only prevent puffy eyes and dark circles on this important day, but will also make you feel fresh and alert. That's why it's best to go to bed early, because the next day will be wonderful, but also relatively long.
