The full venue covers 693 square metres and accommodates up to 1,100 guests cocktail-style, 500 in theatre seating or 500 in a banquet layout. A soundproof operable wall separates the space into Studio 1 and Studio 2, allowing you to plan a larger event, breakout arrangement or more intimate gathering without treating the combined space as an additional independent room.
Studio 1 covers 419 square metres, with standard capacities of 500 cocktail, 240 theatre or 190 banquet guests. Studio 2 covers 275 square metres and welcomes 200 cocktail, 140 theatre or 130 banquet guests. Wedding arrangements can use different seated layouts, so confirm the setting, dance floor and guest count for your chosen celebration with our team.
Floor-to-ceiling windows bring in natural light, and the private decks offer views of the river and surrounding city landmarks. A foyer and cocktail bar support arrival drinks, while direct ground-floor access makes it possible to showcase larger items, including vehicles, at suitable events.
Our in-house chefs create tailored menus using seasonal produce, with wine and beverage arrangements planned around your occasion. For presentations and productions, our venue partner Austage Events provides AV and technical support, including LED screens and sound. We just had the best lunch and day at Zinc! It was so light and fresh and the staff were top notch. Booze also good! 😊
We had our Yr 12 Valedictory dinner and presentation at Zinc and it was an exceptional night. The space was immaculate and the staff were wonderful. The lead up process including communication, logistics and planning from Zinc (especially Lisa C) was good spirited, supportive and patient, which gave me great confidence that the night was going to be a huge success. Already looking to go back next year.
I attended a formal event on Saturday night and the next day realised I lost one of my very expensive diamond earrings . I phoned Zinc first thing Monday morning and spoke to a lovely lady Kirsty who checked the lost property log book . My earring was found and registered. Kirsty went above and beyond and organised my earring to be returned to me. Her customer service was exceptional. Well done Kirsty and Zinc with wonderful staff .
I came to Zinc at Fed Square for an event and had to bring some equipment/items with me. At first, I found the venue a little difficult to locate, so I’m adding these photos to hopefully make it easier for anyone coming here for the first time. If you are coming from Russell Street on foot, you can use the stairs and follow the Fed Square signs towards Zinc / Birrarung Marr. If you are coming by car, the easiest option is to enter the Fed Square car park. After parking, use the lift and go to Level 1. When you come out of the lift, turn left and follow the signs towards Birrarung Marr / Zinc. From there, keep following the pathway and you’ll reach the Zinc entrance. I’ve attached photos showing the Russell Street area, car park entrance, lift, signs and the pathway to Zinc so hopefully they help anyone carrying equipment or coming for an event. The venue itself is in a beautiful location it’s just the first-time access that can be a little confusing. Once you know the route, it’s actually quite easy.
