The garden atrium and botanical-inspired design draw repeated admiration, while staff are described as warm, attentive and quick to accommodate early check-ins or special occasions. Exceptionally comfortable beds and spotless, well-appointed rooms are a recurring highlight, alongside a generous breakfast buffet. A few note slow lifts or basic in-room entertainment, but overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive.
We stayed at West Hotel Sydney for four nights, choosing it mainly for its convenient location and modern rooms as the perfect way to conclude our trip to Australia. Our expectations were exceeded! The staff were polite, attentive and genuinely welcoming from beginning to end, both by email before our stay and at reception. We were also given some lovely thoughtful touches to celebrate our wedding anniversary (including an upgrade!), which we truly appreciated! The bed was incredibly comfortable and we loved the amenities provided, particularly the body lotion and the teas (and when we asked for more herbal tea it was delivered quickly)! The shower pressure was excellent. We also went to the gym twice and the equipment was in very good condition! Our room was very clean and in excellent condition, with very little sign of wear — something we find increasingly rare in hotels of this category and even at 5-star properties. In that sense, the value for money was exceptional. We also loved the location: just a few minutes from tram, metro and bus connections, and around a 20-minute walk from the Opera House and other major attractions. If we return to Sydney, we would absolutely stay here again!

This pleasant boutique hotel sits near the wharf and CBD, serving as my base for the 2026 Sydney marathon. It’s just two blocks from the closest train station for reaching the start line. The staff proved accommodating, allowing an early check-in. They also offered a complimentary breakfast box since I was running. The only drawback was the view; on the 5th floor, there was little to see beyond the street and another building across.
