The Underground Sydney

The Underground Sydney is an established live music and event venue located on Level 3 of UTS Tower in Ultimo, a 10-minute walk from Central Station. The venue accommodates up to 600 guests and features a raised stage, professional sound system with line-array speakers and sub bass, full lighting rig with moving heads and LED wash, projector screen, and in-house bar and pizza kitchen. Natural ceiling light and wide open areas make the space suitable for live band shows, music festivals, comedy nights, networking events, and private celebrations.

The venue operates under a minimum spend model with no venue hire fee. Bookings require a four-hour minimum duration, with minimum spend of AUD 3,500 Monday–Thursday and AUD 5,000 Friday–Sunday. Staff and experienced event coordinators are included with all bookings. Optional add-ons include LED walls, moving lights and lighting design, DJ packages, special effects, and catering packages featuring platters, BBQ menus, and canapés. Beverage packages offer standard and premium options with beer, wine, cider, and non-alcoholic selections.

For larger events, The Underground can be combined with the adjacent Loft on Broadway to accommodate up to 900 guests on weekends. The venue is licensed until 3am and welcomes UTS clubs and societies with discounted rates. All profits are reinvested into student programs at the University of Technology Sydney.
