The Penny Black

Bring your group together at The Penny Black, a historic Brunswick pub with indoor function space and a large, weather-ready beer garden. Whether you want a party with room to dance, a gathering around the stage or a more relaxed outdoor catch-up, we offer areas that can be arranged around the way you want to celebrate.

Invite up to 500 cocktail guests or 120 seated guests to our Beer Garden. It has an exclusive bar, private entrance, DJ booth, marquee and retractable roof. Inside, the Band Room accommodates up to 165 guests in cocktail format or 80 seated, with its own bar, stage, live-performance facilities, a projector and screen and a pool table.

For smaller outdoor gatherings, the Lawn offers space for 100 cocktail guests or 74 seated, with a marquee, direct bar access, picnic tables and booths. A Half Lawn option accommodates up to 40 cocktail guests. The Deck accommodates up to 60 in cocktail format and has a retractable roof, a screen and easy access to the bars and dance floor. These smaller outdoor areas form part of the broader beer garden offering.

You can plan drinks from a range of cocktails, local wines and beers, and discuss the food arrangements for your event with our team. The pub also hosts live music and public social events, with weekend brunch and trivia among the advertised experiences.
