The Kilburn

Bring your wedding reception, milestone birthday, engagement or corporate celebration to The Kilburn in Hawthorn. Our whisky and cocktail bar offers a relaxed, social alternative to a formal reception, with flexible spaces for networking, Christmas parties, client entertaining and private gatherings.

For a larger occasion, full-venue hire gives you exclusive use for up to 200 guests, including the Whisky Room and booths. Our Front Main Bar accommodates up to 160 cocktail guests and can be booked exclusively or in sections. The Whisky Room is available privately for up to 30 guests, while its extended semi-private arrangement with booths is offered for up to 60. Individual booths suit smaller groups of around seven to ten. These are overlapping configurations within the same venue, not separate capacities to add together.

Exclusive Main Bar and full-venue bookings include a private bar, events coordination, microphone and PA, large TV, DJ booth and dance floor, with one hour of complimentary bump-in time. We can arrange flexible beverage packages or a bar tab and help you choose food from platters, finger food, grazing and canapé options. You are also welcome to bring your own catering.

Our modern interior sits within a heritage building designed by E. G. Kilburn, giving your event a warm setting with a distinctive architectural story. Glenferrie Railway Station is around a two-minute walk away. A minimum beverage spend applies to space bookings; we will confirm the details for your date, guest numbers and hire arrangement.
