The Espressonist

Celebrate your wedding, birthday, engagement or other milestone on the Docklands marina at The Espressonist. We also welcome corporate gatherings, farewells, reunions, baby showers and wakes, combining a restaurant setting with waterfront views, tailored food and an event team to help with the arrangements.

For exclusive functions we accommodate up to 120 guests for standing cocktails and canapes. Our dining room, booths, lounge and bar seating offer different ways to arrange your gathering, with a waterfront terrace for outdoor dining and semi-private celebrations. Discuss the seated capacity and the spaces included in your event before confirming your guest list; indoor and terrace arrangements form part of the same venue.

The space began as a contemporary art gallery and still displays original artwork. Light-filled interiors open towards the marina, giving your guests a setting for a relaxed meal or a larger celebration. For corporate occasions, the booths can support breakout groups, while the room and terrace can be planned around your preferred format.

Our kitchen creates event menus with Modern Australian cooking, seasonal produce and Victorian suppliers. Choose sharing food, a seated dinner, canapes, a high tea or a long brunch, with dietary requirements discussed in advance. Wine, cocktails and non-alcoholic options can be arranged alongside the meal. On selected evenings the same venue and team operate as FOMO Bar + Grill, with steak, seafood and the evening wine list.

Our team handles the setup, service and pack-down, with pricing quoted for your date, guest numbers and dining format. Corporate bookings require at least two weeks' notice and a 50% deposit to confirm.
