The Blacksmith Bar

Bring your next birthday, wedding reception, engagement or corporate occasion to The Blacksmith Bar in Richmond. We offer an upstairs private function room and casual group reservations on the ground floor, giving you a choice between an exclusive space and a more informal gathering. Our team can help organise food, drinks and the details around the occasion.

The upstairs function room occupies the first floor and accommodates up to 110 guests. It has a private bar, private bathrooms, a built-in photobooth and a view over Swan Street. A flat-screen television and wireless microphone support photographs, videos and speeches. You can arrange your own music or DJ, and decorations are welcome within our venue guidelines.

For a casual event, reserve an area of the ground-floor bar. This shared setting is licensed for 100 people and offers group bookings without a minimum spend or venue-hire fee. Catering, a bar tab or a beverage package can be arranged, or guests can purchase their own drinks. The licence figure covers the space, rather than an individual reserved section.

We also host cocktail masterclasses for groups of 10 to 30, with larger groups considered on request. Classes run for around two hours outside normal trading hours, with a dedicated teacher, drinks and roaming canapés. A non-alcoholic mocktail version is available. This is an option for a team activity, birthday, hens or bucks gathering.

Private upstairs bookings have minimum-spend conditions based on day and time, while the venue-hire fee is complimentary. You are welcome to bring a cake for us to cut and serve without charge. Tell us your guest numbers and plans so we can confirm the appropriate booking, inclusions and conditions.
