Temperance Hotel

Celebrate your next birthday, engagement, hens party or work occasion at Temperance Hotel in South Yarra. We offer private and semi-private spaces for social gatherings, Christmas parties and corporate end-of-financial-year events. For a larger celebration, exclusive use of the venue can be arranged for up to 500 guests, subject to availability and minimum spend.

Our upstairs Private Lounge accommodates up to 100 guests for a cocktail event. Red velvet, brass finishes and a private bar create a distinctive setting for your celebration. Downstairs, the Booth Bar offers a more casual semi-private option beside the main bar. Its three booths seat up to six guests each; combined with the dining space, the area accommodates 32 seated or 50 cocktail guests.

For a smaller meal, the semi-private Dining Room welcomes up to 14 seated guests. A curtain can separate your group while keeping the atmosphere of the pub, and a screen supports presentations or viewing. This dining area forms part of the Booth Bar arrangement, so the capacities are not additional when combined.

Our outdoor Beer Garden can be booked in sections or as a whole private area for up to 24 seated or 60 standing guests, with space for a DJ. It suits birthdays, hens or bucks gatherings and relaxed celebrations with friends.

We serve pub food alongside drinks from our bars, and our functions team can help you choose a space and discuss the food, timing and arrangements for your occasion.
