Plan your next corporate gathering, private party or hens celebration at State of Grace on King Street. Our heritage-listed building brings together a street-level restaurant, mezzanine dining, the hidden Fall From Grace cellar bar and a rooftop with Melbourne city views. Chandeliers, vintage lounge settings and distinctive spaces give you a choice of atmosphere for your occasion.

Our venue-wide event option is listed for up to 450 guests, with smaller spaces and sections available for more intimate plans. The rooftop can be booked as a complete area for up to 200 guests, or in smaller front and raised sections. Downstairs, Fall From Grace offers a cellar-bar setting for up to 150 guests, reached through a secret entrance behind the bookcase.

For a dining-focused event, choose the Mezzanine or a smaller Mezzanine Section. Our Street Level Windows area gives you a semi-private setting with ceiling-high windows, chandeliers and access to the bar. These areas and their subdivisions overlap, so our functions team will help you confirm the booking scope and configuration rather than adding their capacities together.

We offer European-inspired dining, canapés, shared plates, pizzas and cocktails, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options available. Hens packages can combine food and drinks with optional entertainment, and our brunch programme offers another way to celebrate. You are welcome to bring a cake without a cakeage charge, with decorations permitted when they do not create mess or disturb other guests.

Please discuss access and guest requirements with us when choosing your space. Wheelchair access is available to the venue’s levels except the dining mezzanine, and minors are permitted only in the dining room with a parent or legal guardian.
