London Tavern Hotel

Plan your next birthday, corporate gathering, Christmas function or private meeting at the London Tavern Hotel in Richmond. We offer semi-private and fully private options across our courtyard, beer garden, dining room and lounge, plus two upstairs spaces for smaller occasions. Our events team can help you match the setting, food and drinks to your plans.

For larger functions, the combined Courtyard & Beer Garden accommodates up to 600 cocktail guests or 150 seated, with a private bar and furniture that can be rearranged. Booking both areas is the only way to reserve the full courtyard privately, because the beer garden is accessed through it. The courtyard has a retractable roof and heating; partial courtyard dining seats up to eighty. The beer garden can accommodate 130 cocktail guests beneath a marquee and surrounding trees.

Inside, the Dining Room offers a fireplace, doors onto the courtyard terrace and arrangements for up to fifty seated or fifty-five cocktail guests. For a larger indoor function, the Dining Room & Lounge together accommodate seventy seated or eighty cocktail guests. The lounge cannot be booked by itself, and combined spaces should not be added to their individual areas when planning capacity.

Upstairs, the Boardroom seats up to ten around a meeting table with a movable TV and AV connection. The Richmond Room offers a flexible layout for fourteen seated or thirty cocktail guests, with a TV, sound system, fireplace and catering or private-bar service available. Both upstairs rooms are reached by stairs and are not wheelchair-accessible; discuss suitable ground-floor access arrangements with our team.

Choose seated dining, canapés or shared platters, with food and beverage options tailored to your occasion. Families are welcome and highchairs can be requested in advance. Please note that bucks and hens parties are not accepted. On major MCG or Melbourne & Olympic Parks event days, the venue generally operates as walk-ins only, so confirm function availability for your chosen date.
