Jonah’s Restaurant and Boutique Hotel

My other half took me here for my 40th birthday and I have to say it is absolutely immaculate here. The views are stunning no matter where you look, staff was impeccably friendly, knowledgeable and attentive and the rooms are beautiful and very clean. The pool area is very small but usually empty. The spa could be slightly improved. I think making it more of an experience by offering a water or asking for personal preferences would already make a big difference. Lots of parking. Small drive to whale beach or walk but its a hike back up the cliff. I also liked that it was a more old fashioned small hotel in the best possible way. We would happily come back.

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday but I don’t think we will be going back. There were heaps of free tables but we were set up in the worst placement, smack in the middle where everyone walked past every couple seconds. We wondered if this had anything to do with the fact that we were the only people of color. Most of the staff were lovely with the exception of a young male staff. We asked for share plates and he seemed awfully annoyed, handed them rudely and left promptly. The female staff assigned to our table however was lovely. The food was good but our overall experience was quite poor.

Booking Jonah''s for my wife''s birthday was a stroke of genius. The restaurant, perched overlooking Whale Beach, offers views that are absolutely breathtaking. The food was top-class—each dish a culinary masterpiece that delighted our senses. The service was exceptional, making my wife feel truly special. Our room was a luxurious retreat with stunning quality and comfort. From the incredible ocean panorama to the meticulously prepared meals, every moment was magical. If you''re looking for a memorable dining and stay experience that combines incredible views, outstanding cuisine, and impeccable service, Jonah''s is an absolute must-visit. Highly recommended!

High on a ridge overlooking the vast Pacific our days began with some gorgeous sunrises; at mealtime our table setting included binoculars so we could "swim among" the spectacular whale migrations to or from their calving grounds in the Coral Sea; our meals benefited from the honed skills of experienced chefs. Nothing special. My wife is dead now--just unforgettable memories from sixty years together.

I can''t recommend Jonah''s highly enough - not only amazing menu and food, but also first class service from everyone at the hotel and restaurant. Plus - stunning rooms, amazing views, lovely amenities. It''s so refreshing to go somewhere that surpasses your own expectations. Excellent all-round.
