Create your next private function, corporate gathering or birthday celebration with us at Howler. Set within a former Brunswick warehouse, our venue brings together a green semi-industrial garden, an open Main Bar, an intimate Gallery Bar and a purpose-built Theatre for live performance.

Our Theatre is an exclusive private function space available for bookings of 30 to 400 people. It supports artistic, creative, social and corporate events, with custom-designed sound and lighting for performance presentation. The final layout and technical arrangements should be discussed with us for your event; the 400-person figure is not a confirmed capacity for every seating style.

For a relaxed staff get-together, birthday or catch-up, our Garden Bar offers an informal section for function groups of 30 or more. Surrounding areas remain open to the public. You can also enquire about the more secluded Gallery Bar or the entire venue. These are different booking arrangements, and their capacities must not be added together. The Theatre’s 400-person limit does not establish a combined whole-venue maximum.

Our bar and kitchen offer small bites and larger dishes, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free choices. Discuss function food, dietary requirements and drinks with us so we can confirm what is available for your booking.

Both the Garden and Theatre are accessible, with a central accessible restroom and curbside access for car services. We accept Companion Cards for ticketed events under the applicable booking process. A council-operated park-and-ride car park is immediately outside, and we are close to the tram, train and Upfield Bike Path.
