About us
Private group dining shaped by seasonal ingredients and time
Our kitchen is led by Executive Chef Jae Bang. We work with local and foraged ingredients, using preservation and fermentation to develop flavour while respecting the character of the produce. A minimal-wastage approach encourages us to use ingredients carefully and find value in every part. These ideas shape the dining experience you share with your group.
For a smaller gathering, the semi-private dining room offers an intimate experience. Larger group dining can be arranged through a private-event enquiry. We offer several banquet menus and beverage selections, and can cater to most dietary requirements. Let us know what your guests need when you discuss the booking with our team.
Groups of seven or more dine on a set menu, with at least 24 hours' notice required for these menus. Bookings for up to ten guests can be made online; groups of eleven or more should enquire with our team. A 10% service charge applies to groups of ten or more. We accept card payments only, and bookings are confirmed once payment details have been secured. Review the cancellation terms when arranging your event.

Love the menu which offers interesting tastes and flavours. We selected the tasting menu and, despite me not giving pre warning of dietaries when I booked, they accommodated my gluten intolerance efficiently. The highlight was the service - from the greeting at the door and throughout dinner the attention to our needs was excellent, explaining the menu and helping with wine selection. Cocktails are pretty good too. Not cheap - but a great night out.
Simply superb. One of the most carefully balanced tasting menus I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying - every dish was impeccable, with consideration given to texture, mouthfeel and flavour. The pacing between courses was very well done - just long enough to start wanting more but never left so long as to actually get hungry again. Lovely staff, great wines and a good vibe - grab a seat at the kitchen bench and watch the chefs work their magic. Will be back for sure.
We visited the last night & had the “Taste of Freyja” celebrating our 20 year anniversary. It was the most delicious dining experience we have ever had. The flavours were exquisite & so much food hubby had to help with mine. We sat at the bar watching the talented chefs weaving their creative magic & explained every ingredient that was in each dish. All of the staff were very professional, polite & friendly. This place made our Melbourne trip. We can’t wait to come back to try the new menu.
The best restaurant I've been to in Melbourne! I had such an amazing experience and I can't wait to come back next time I'm in town. The food was simply sensational. Every single dish we ordered left us in awe. My non-alcoholic cocktail was fantastic too! We also had the pleasure of being looked after by Chloe, who was incredibly caring, attentive and knowledgeable. She genuinely contributed to making our experience so outstanding. I can't recommend this place enough! ♡
