Bangarra Dance Theatre

Bring your next conference, seminar, team gathering or celebration to Bangarra Dance Theatre in the Walsh Bay Arts Precinct. Our waterfront home combines the character of heritage wharves with the working environment of an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander performing arts company. We offer a function space and three studios, with arrangements tailored to your event.

Dangarra O Badu opens towards the harbour and provides a setting for seated dining or a cocktail reception. It accommodates up to 80 seated guests or 120 for cocktails. Studio 1 has a retractable 120-seat bank that can be extended with additional chairs to 160 seats. These are different room configurations, rather than a combined venue total. Studios 2 and 3 can support rehearsals, smaller sessions or breakout use, subject to availability.

The shared foyer can be hired with the function space outside business hours by negotiation. Tell our venue team about your programme, guest number, technical requirements and the spaces you would like to use so we can confirm a suitable setup.

Food and beverages are supplied through our approved catering partners. Our corporate hire information outlines accessible ground-level facilities, Wi-Fi and presentation options, with specific equipment and staffing confirmed in your quotation. Minimum hire is four hours. Event timing, setup, pack-down, security and decoration requirements need to be agreed before booking. We encourage a site visit so you can assess access, the floors and your proposed layout with our venue manager.
